Kerr Plonk is an informal, fun, team wine tasting event !!
More than a tasting - as well as guessing the types of white and red wines that are on offer by taste, aroma and colour - guests will be challenged by our Thirst For Knowledge Quiz Rounds and Fun ‘Blind Tasting’ Rounds !!
So you think you know your Sauvignon from your Chardonnay, your French from your Spanish well now is your chance to put your skills to the test with a Wine filled Kerr Plonk challenge.
A fun filled evening with your team and wine at the top of the agenda, who could ask for more.
Lead by our professional wine taster/buyer you will be quizzed on your wine general knowledge. For example ‘Where in the world will you find the wine region Hawkes Bay’?
Kerr Plonk is an event that anyone can take part in, so don’t worry if you haven’t got the faintest idea of the difference between a chardonnay and a Pinot Noir, with the insightful introduction to the event you’ll learn all you need to know.
Kerr Plonk will brighten up any pre dinner drinks session and with two formats is suitable for 10 – 240 delegates.
Structure
We suggest an informal pre dinner event with guests tasting eight wines ‘blind’...that is they won’t know what wine they are tasting as all labels will be hidden !! Then in teams, they will aim to discover the grape, country of origin and retail price of the wines tasted.
Delegates also take part of our fun wine quiz ‘Thirst for Knowledge’ this is a great informal start to the evening. Each team will be given our kerr plonk pack that includes wine quiz, tasting information sheet with ‘tasting tips’ list of the grapes tasted, the retail prices and countries of origin and an answer sheet for guests to match the information to the wines tasted !!
Each person will also be given the chance to become a wine expert as they describe each wine to rival the experts akin to ‘ a long, full bodied red, with aroma of blackcurrants and oaky distinction’ ... a prize being awarded to the most imaginative of the evening !
Kerr Plonk can also be run over dinner.
